#ApologizeBarkha trends on Twitter: Know why netizens are demanding apology from the veteran journalist

Journalist Barkha Dutt is receiving much hate from netizens on the micro-blogging site Twitter after her old video clip became a talking point among users with many seeking an apology from the journalist.
“Today hapless victims, they were once privileged elites of the valley. They may have been a minority but at that time, they had monopolised government jobs, plum postings, and other such social benefits…” the veteran journalist was heard as saying.
The fake news industry and the business of shaping opinions in a particular way has existed from much earlier times than we realise. Here’s a great example. https://t.co/6hSHOAI74a

A Kashmiri Hindu woman also recalled the harrowing tale of genocide after her grandson showed her the journalist’s video:
Following the Insta video, Kashmiri Pandits have started a social media campaign, sharing the hashtag #ApologiseBarkha and demanded an apology from the veteran journalist.

#ApologiseBarkha for condoning the lynching of Pandits, citing falsehoods.
Can violence EVER be justified?
And that too, gross killing of entire community?

The kashmiri pandits still live in refugee camps under gullible conditions not by choice but they were forced they were made to flee from their own land so many have developed mental health issues because of the trauma.#ApologiseBarkha

If kashmiri pandits were so privileged then why would there be expodus of Kashmiri pandits? Even she would have left kashmir if she had to face all those traumatizing moments happened in Kashmir. @BDUTT Justifying ethnic cleansing is totally wrong #ApologiseBarkha https://t.co/iEapxrfp5c
